Quarantine, Routine, & Health

Yes, we did just get news that we are going to be in our homes until May 1. This doesn't mean that new recipe for being healthy is staying indoors, never getting dressed, and eating junk food. We absolutely must keep our immune health at peak performance! Here are some tips on how to establish a new "normal" in regards to this new routine and your health.

1. Create a day where there is a schedule for you, for the kids, for eating, for playing, exercising, etc. Just as we all probably had before, some sort of routine is key in establishing a balanced life.

2. Don't forget to get outside and move your body. If you can do both at the same time, that's great! This is a time to start that new workout you wanted to do, ride your old bike, try some yoga on YouTube, plant a garden, or just go for a walk.

3. Eat like you always should. Now is not the time to skimp on a healthy well balanced diet. Viruses and bacteria feed and thrive on sugars. Limit the junk and take this time to dial in a healthy balanced meal plan. Keep it to the basics: meats, nuts, fruits, and veggies.

4. Being active daily is key to a good nights rest. So many are not sleeping because of the stress of our situation. Exercise increases immunity as well as clears the mind. Find balance in your day with movement and drinking plenty of water.
